A ganglion cyst (also known as a bible bump) is a swelling that often appears on or around joints and tendons in the hand or foot. The size of the cyst can vary over time, often becoming more inflamed if irritated. It is most frequently located around the wrist and on the fingers

• Most of the patients are between 20 to 50 years.
• There is a presence of a round or oval swelling with smooth surface and round borders.
• Skin over swelling is normal.
• The swelling is tensely cystic and can be compressed.
• It does not reflect light as many cystic swelling that is filled with water do.
• They are not usually painful
• Sometimes they can be pressed and the cyst flattens out, only to reappear again.
